Generally, words that end in the letter o are masculine and words that end in the letter a are feminine.

The word for Pizza in Italian is Pizza which is feminine as it ends in the letter a, so you would say the pizza by saying
La pizza	la pee-za

And you would say a pizza by saying
Una pizza	oona pee-za

The word for chemist in Italian is farmacia which is feminine as it ends in the letter a, so you would say the chemist by saying
La farmacia	la farm-a-chee-a

To say a chemist you would say
Una farmacia	oona farm-a-chee-a

The word for post office is posta which is feminine as it ends in the letter a, so to say the post office you would say
